Helldivers 2 takes place a century after the events of the first game, with Super Earth having emerged victorious against its adversaries – the deadly, bug-like Terminids, the grotesque Cyborgs and the inscrutable Illuminates.

As it is now, it is an entertaining action spectacle that is definitely best when played with others. Despite the repetitiveness, I have had a lot of fun with it and I look forward to diving into new planets to save humanity.

Rumors that Helldivers 2 may be revealed soon began yesterday after developer Arrowhead Game Studios released a TikTok short showing their social media person trying to deal with hundreds of messages about the game.

The universe of Helldivers 2 will grow and change to give our players refreshed gameplay, introducing new tools, new challenges, and new threats from around the galaxy.

As the second installment to the series, we expect the in-game content to shake up the original formula, but the limited trailers we Helldivers 2 Gameplay are working with aren’t giving away too much information. That said, there are a few things we can pinpoint from what we have seen.

The gameplay is still largely similar from the first game, you choose from a list of missions with varying difficulty levels and objectives and get dropped into the map from a landing spot of your choice. You can choose to accomplish the missions immediately if you so desire, or you can aim to complete every side objective in the mission.

Performance vs quality mode on PlayStation 5. Essentially it's a choice between an uneven 30fps at 1728p or a relatively solid 60fps at 1080p, with both seemingly combining TAA with FSR 1-style upscaling to a 2160p/4K output.

Your strategy also depends on which mission you’re taking on, and you do need to consider your armor alongside your weapons. As stated in the co-op and combat trailer, each mission will require specific load-outs which are worth considering, so you’ll need to get really familiar with your available equipment in order to successfully take down any larger enemies.

As you play Helldivers 2, you'll be tasked with completing daily Personal Orders with simple objectives like "kill 200 Terminids," as well as weekly, community-wide Major Orders that challenge the game's entire player base to complete enough missions on the planets listed to liberate them.
